Joining and What You Get

If you were a crew chief, gunner, aero medic, flight engineer, PJ, Oscar, pilot or other flight specialist, then we would like to invite you to join us at the VHCMA (International). The VHCMA is a nonprofit, nonpolitical, fraternal association of former helicopter crew members and their families, and any interested party.

The VHCMA was organized in 1986 and has an active membership of over 1900 individuals. Our membership list is NOT made available for outside solicitation or veteran causes.

We publish a quarterly newsletter in January, April, July and October and typically runs 6-12 pages of stories and contains information that would be of interest to our group.

We have held annual reunions every year in such places as Phoenix, St. Louis, Philadelphia, Louisville, KY, and Las Vegas. At our 1995 reunion in St. Louis, USO radio personality Chris Noel was our special guest.

Dues are $30 per year for General or Associate Members. A Lifetime membership is available for $350, which may be paid out over a three year period. General members (enlisted crew members and pilots) have exclusive voting rights for determining the VHCMA goals and functions. Associate Membership includes family members, and other non-crewmembers or just anyone having an interest to part of our association.

Proof of crew member status is required for General Membership. This may be a copy of your DD-214, Air Medal Orders, or any other documents to verify crew status. If any of these types of documents are not available, another VHCMA General Member may sponsor your application. Contact our office, if you have questions regarding membership in the VHCMA. 1-800-842-6201
